Valentine's Day Gifts and Cards

WOW. Talk about waayy behind right? I still wanted to share the Valentine's that the kids gave to their friends this year.
Pixie handed out these little make your own Snowmen kits. It's funny, because I just happened to have these and the movie Frozen came out so Snowmen were perfect for an Olaf card. I had the pack of the Snowmen from Target's Christmas clearance. The pack of 20 was originally $5, and I got it for $1.25 I made the printable in black and white because I figured the kids could color it in if they wanted to.
Diva gave out these great pencils that have tongue twisters on them from Super Duper Publications. I found the Ventricular, is that the word? Where the image changes when you move the item? These little stars "wink" when moved. Anyway. They were a steal, I found them at Target for 75% off at the Dollar Spot! There was maybe 12 in each bag too! She wrote on the back of each one.

Piglet is BIG into robots and robotics right now, so these sticker packs from Target were PERFECT. She just opened up each one and wrote a message on them for each of her friends.
So those were our Valentine's this year. Simple but still fun, and NO candy!

Wednesday Words- Most Important Work

I need this reminder. Every second. But I also need to KNOW it and OWN it.
Pray for me.

“The most important of the Lord's work you will ever do will be the work you do within the walls of your own home.”

He is Risen Indeed

Free Printable Source

Diva drew this in her bible study book. How fitting that this week she learned about Jehovah-jireh. The Provider. The picture she drew is of Abraham and Issac. Issac is saying "oh dear, we don't have a lamb." Abraham replies, "hey look!" And the ram is there, stick in the blob bush, on the lower left. Man I love this kid.
It's kind of funny, but being that it's Passover week, Good Friday, and Easter. It is so fitting. It opened the door to again talk about our need for a Savior. That no matter what we bring to the alter, it's not enough for a holy God. But He provided a Lamb. A perfect Lamb without blemish.

Abraham answered, “God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” And the two of them went on together. Gen 22:8

And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” Luke 22:19

Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch—as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. 1 Corinthians 5:7

The next day John (the baptist) saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!" John 1:29

Glow in the Dark Egg Hunt & Easter Fun

These are pictures from our egg hunt last year. You can read all about it in this post HERE.
It was so fun, we'll probably do it again! The girls didn't need any little toy surprises either, just the eggs and glow stick bracelets were fun for them.
Do you have an egg hunt? What was your most memorable one? We have a habit of doing our hunts late. One year it was just a week or two after, sometimes the day after, once it was a month after :). Easter Sunday we're at church and spending time worshiping and with loved ones, so this is fun anytime.

Here are some more ideas for celebrating Resurrection Sunday
Tea Dyed Eggs (You can use food coloring or beet juice also)
Don't forget the Bunny Rolls (Just search Bunny Rolls in the search box)

Free Friday

It was 70 degrees yesterday. So I took Pixie to the zoo with some friends.
"I don't know who prepares the food around here, but I need a drink."

Pixie- "Mommy, it's Aslan! But he's not a talking Aslan."
Turns out this lion's name is Aslan, or someone told us it was.

Free Friday Aug 19

I so missed Free Friday yesterday. It was such a busy day.The girls will be starting school soon, and we're just getting things together. We are done with school supply shopping. Target had some pretty awesome deals. Buy one get one free, money maker coupons on their site to print etc.
This past week I decided to check out what this whole CVS shopping and Extracare bucks is about. I got some great deals. Free nail polish (2), body wash, and Teddy Grahams.  I did get some discounted items also and I have $8.00 extracare bucks leftover.
But at Target I got all of the above for free. I got this PDF coupon for the tape HERE. It's for  $1.00 off of tape. The tape I chose was 80 cents. There is no size specified on the coupon, so it's a "money maker". I also printed a coupon on Target.com for $2 off denim. These shorts were on clearance for $3.24.
3.24-2= 1.24
7 x 0.80= 5.60
Total = 6.84
Coupons = 9.00
Tax free on the shorts this week, so I got money back.
We need tape around here, the girls use it like crazy too. I also did this with some of that tape.

Free Friday- Teeth and freebies

Isn't this cute from Tidy Mom? Download the printable using the link to her blog HERE.

One of the most disgusting things to me as a mother is watching my children brush their teeth. Or brushing their teeth for them. I'm gagging just thinking about it. Children don't just brush their teeth, they drool, swallow the toothpaste, smear it all over, spit all over. Oh my gosh, it's gross. It's just so necessary isn't it? How are you when brushing your children's teeth? No issues? I'm just crazy? I thought so.

What about the tooth-fairy? A friend shared this letter from passiveagressivenotes.com. Too funny. I mean sure it's ... well passive aggressive, still funny.

Diva has been losing teeth left and right. And for a mom who was so totally against the whole Santa at Christmas thing- that went out the door this past Christmas we spent at their grandparents, I put money under her pillow. Ok, I only did that once, after that I told her she should leave the tooth on the dresser so she doesn't squish the fairy. The thing is she's been leaving notes for the tooth fairy. Complete with surveys, gifts and what not. Little dresses made from tissues, small packages, notes about "can I have lipstick next time, instead of money?" and of course can "I keep my tooth". Because grandma wants to see her teeth and give her money too. Sigh. All I'm saying is that if your fairy leaves your child a note remember that fairies write so small that you need a magnifying glass to read it. Might as well make it believable. Just saying. Do your kids believe there's a tooth-fairy?

I found some cute printables to make this chore a little more tolerable. I thought you might like them also.

The sign shown at the top of this post is from Tidy Mom, you can find that free printable HERE.

The oral care charts below can be found HERE.
