Do you have a child in a car seat? Do you know someone who does? If so, you/they NEED a W.H.A.L.E kit. If you haven't heard of the W.H.A.L.E program, you must read this page here. In a nutshell, W.H.A.L.E stands for "We have a little emergency". The kit includes a card for parents/caregivers to fill out with pertinent medical information about the child that the car seat belongs to. This card is tucked away behind the seat and out of plain sight. There are window stickers that alert emergency responders to the information should there be an accident/incident where the caregiver/parent is unable to speak for the child. The W.H.A.L.E sticker and logo are nationally recognized by law enforcement, fire and other emergency personnel.
What a simple thing to do that can have such a huge impact on how fast decisions can be made during emergency medical care.
Connie Day, a caregiver, developed the program. The website was founded and is run by a husband (Neal) and wife team. It's an awesome resource that pulls all the programs across the country together. Find a W.H.A.L.E program in your state or start one! Click here for more information.
There is also a S.H.I.E.L.D program for bike helmets.
To purchase a kit, go to their website HERE. You can also donate and purchase its for those who can not afford it.
Their facebook page is HERE.
Neal has graciously offered to giveaway FIVE winners 3 W.H.A.L.E kits each.
