I love Ikea meatballs. YUM. We like them baked until a little crisp. Using toothpicks and dipping them in chili garlic sauce. Sometimes with gravy and potatoes. Serving them over egg noodles with a simple red onion béchamel sauce. I make the sauce with minced garlic, thinly sliced red onion, butter, flour, chicken stock and cream or milk. Melt the 1 tablespoon of butter cook 1/2 of a thinly sliced onion and 2 minced garlic cloves until soft and fragrant. Add 2 tablespoons of butter to the pot heat until foamy. Sprinkle in 2 tablespoons of flour. Cook until the flour is light brown and smells nutty, not like raw flour. Whisk in stock, white pepper salt and a little nutmeg. Heat until thick. Add a splash of cream or milk. Toss in egg noodles. Serve with meatballs on top.
