I had to share this. Pixie (my four year old), is going to be Darth Vader (a Pink-a-licous one) in her sister's school parade next week. I am so pleased with how her mask and light saber turned out! I didn't have any silver paint so I used my silver nail polish on the mask.
If I haven't already mentioned it, this little girl loooves to dress up, you'll often find her at the grocery store in something like this...
or this.
When I asked her what she wanted to wear to the parade she said I want to be a "stunk"- she has a skunk costume she likes to wear as a jacket. Then she changed her mind to Darth Vader- pink. She saw a You Tube video with a Pink Vader. (Of course in the past weeks she's changed her mind about 5 times about what she want's to wear.) I decided we could do Vader, and no more changing of her mind was allowed. Though she went from skunk, to Vader, to Hermione, to unicorn, and back again. The helmet in the above picture doesn't fit her anymore, that's what she usually uses as a Vader helmet. So I had to get her a new one. I spray painted both the mask and the light saber. I used a plastic primer, then spray paint. The smell has dissipated. The cape is from The Original Supercapes on Etsy. Way cute isn't it? She wants a tutu also, I have one I can re purpose but we'll have to see if I get it done on time. Do your children like to dress up?
That is too cute! You did a great job with painting it. At first I was wondering where you would have found a pink Darth Vader costume. How creative!
