Lunchskins GIVEAWAY

Picture of a sandwich size bag. Picture is from the Lunchskins site.

I try not to be a wasteful person, and I admit, sometimes convenience wins out. I grew up with parents who reused grocery bags for trashcans. My mom would wash and dry zip top bags to reuse them. One of the things that convenience always won out on was plastic bags for snack and sandwiches. If I didn't have a snack cup handy, I'd use a bag. After we were done with it, I'd toss it. I have seen reusable snack bags before but never used them. I just didn't think they would be easy to clean. Then I read about Lunchskins. DISHWASHER safe. Oh yes.

Lunchskins is a product from 3greenmoms. Not only are these little baggies cute and dishwasher safe, switching over to reusable sandwich and snack bags is an easy way to reduce your carbon footprint. Everyday 20 million sandwich bags are thrown out in the US. Sure it's a small step, but a step nonetheless.  Hand sewn in the US, and tested for food safety, the Lunchskins come in three sizes and a variety of prints and colors. They are also grease proof and moisture proof. Here is what 3greenmoms has to say about safety-

Our number one priority was to find a food-safe fabric, so we went straight to the food industry. There, we found a very high-quality European fabric used by patisseries and bakeries certified as food-safe. Conveniently, this fabric is durable and withstands high heat, too - bingo! It can withstand repeated cycles in the dishwasher.
We have put LunchSkins through a rigorous testing process by an independent lab. They have been certified as lead, Bisphenol-A (BPA) and phthalate-free. The very thin layer of polyurethane has also been tested and found not to migrate into food or leave a "plastic" odor behind, thus meeting EU requirements for food contact. Our test results are available upon request.
Our Lunchskins that were sent for review seal with an easy hoop and loop closure. There's also a place to write a name, should your bag get lost. Which is helpful because you want your bags to come back home! My girls are really good at bringing everything home, lunch boxes, picks, sauce containers etc. This is just extra "insurance".
Wouldn't these make great teacher gifts? Filled with candies, nuts and/or a giftcard, as a reusable gift bag. Perfect for stuffing stockings, holding golden chocolate coins and more!
You can find Lunchskins on their main website HERE. While you're there don't forget to check out the ongoing sale page HERE.
Lunchskins has a Facebook page also, HERE.

  2. I have started reusing the kids' sandwich bags. I've told them to bring them home. We rinse them and hang to dry. This seems to be a good way to reduse some waste. Also another reason why I'd love to win one of these cute sandwich bags!
