Tiffins- Animal Kingdom

Tiffins is a table service restaurant on property at Disney World's Animal Kingdom. We had lunch there during our visit and it was one of our favorite meals.
Tiffins are the stackable lunch containers you see on top of the restaurant's sign in the photo above. I've posted some school lunches packed in these stackable metal containers here on my blog also. In some parts of India Tiffin can also refer to a light snack or midday meal. The name is fitting since the restaurant serves dishes that are inspired by travel throughout Europe, Africa, Asia, and the America's all of which was themes found throughout the Animal Kingdom.  It's a beautiful restaurant and I am so glad we didn't overlook it.

Chef's de France- Epcot

We've never been disappointed after a meal at Chef's de France. I love how bright the place is during the day and how romantic it is in the evenings, if you have a later reservation you can view the fireworks at Epcot. It's such a sweet place with big windows, beautiful architecture.
The cast members have always been so helpful. Lunch or dinner the food and service are consistent. Each visit the Chef has come out to discuss the allergy friendly foods and assure us that each dish will be prepared carefully for my daughter.

Hollywood Brown Derby- Hollywood Studios Orlando

OH Hollywood Brown Derby, how I wanted to love you. You and your famous Cobb Salad, Grapefruit cake, and rave reviews from so many people. Grapefruit cake that I anticipated and told my family about. I told them that you were wonderful. It would be a great meal. Where else would we go at Hollywood Studios?  Sigh. Here's the nitty gritty. Hollywood Brown Derby wasn't bad, I just really built it up I think.

Narcoossee's- Orlando

Narcoossee's which is an Indian Creek word that means "little bear" by the way. I looked it up because I'm a nerd like that. This waterfront restaurant is at the Grand Floridian Resort on the Disney World property. It's a beautiful restaurant. We didn't have bad service at all on our trip so stating that the service was great for us seems redundant but Narcoossee's was no different. The staff was friendly and so helpful. Our waiter had a trainee and he was also wonderful.
As with all Disney dinning they were so careful about what my nut free child could have. The chef came out to speak to us, and as each plate as put before her they mentioned it was prepared according to her needs. I can't tell you what a huge difference dinning at places like this makes for me. I know my child will be safe and I know that they take her allergy seriously.

The Fountain of Fair Fortune- Universal Studios Orlando

Butterbeer. It's sweet, like cream soda, butterscotch soda. The cream on top, like melted vanilla ice cream that's been whipped to barely soft peaks. I like it cold and frozen. I didn't get to have it hot sadly. It's perfect to grab and wander around the Wizarding World and get lost.
At the bottom of this post is the Pumpkin Juice which taste like a spiced apple cider and pumpkin spices. It was way too sweet for me.

Test Track Cool Wash- Epcot

Here is another post from our Orlando trip! I am not going to do a separate blog post for every snack we had on our trip, I will try to put them in one post per park... maybe. This post just happens to be one I started while we were in Orlando. This fun place is by the Test Track in Epcot. It's called the Test Track Cool Wash. Right when you get off of the ride and go through the exit you walk straight and see it. It is fairly new I believe it opened just this month. You get to build your own slushie and add toppings, all nut free. The beauty of it is that cast members build it for you after you fill out a little form. Read: no sticky floor and mess from over filled cups by the public. No toppings all mixed in and dropped into other containers.

Mythos Restaurant- Universal Studios Orlando

Mythos was the best meal we had at Universal Studios. The pork chop was so amazing. Cooked sous vide then seared. So tender and juicy. The aioli on my daughter's already delicious lamb burger was so good. My youngest ordered the grilled cheese and finished it. The cheeses were so gooey and yummy. She isn't a big eater so we were surprised.
The restaurant itself is so beautiful. It's bright and so pretty inside. The service was great, the chef and server were very attentive and assured us that our food would be allergy friendly for my but nut free child.
I would absolutely eat here again.

"Featuring a mix of Mediterranean, Asian and American fare, Mythos' casually elegant menu includes options like Greek salad, pad Thai, wraps, burgers, and more. There's also a separate children's menu for little ones. Indulge in an outstanding dessert or selection from the full wine list to make your time spent in this mythical space even more sublime."

Bread service.

Pumpkin Cream Churros- Disney World

I haven't blogged in forever, but iceI've got so many yummy food posts from Universal Studios Orlando and Disney World that I can't wait to share with you all. I wanted to ease into it by sharing these Pumpkin Cream Churros.
In general I do not eat Disney Churros (or most Churros). If I want  Churros I go to a Churro shop in my home town where they pipe them fresh and fry them to order. Even then I don't eat a whole one. They tend to be sweet and greasy.  My children ordered Churros  at Marimoto for dessert and they were meh, better than most but not really that great.

Cave Tools Meat Shredding Claws- Review

Cave Tools Stainless Steel Meat Shredding Claws.
Hello everyone! As I'm writing this post it is 76 degrees outside. It's so beautiful! I think Spring should be the longest season of the year, it's always the shortest it seems. I hope that it's a beautiful day where ever you are reading this post from. I haven't done very many product reviews lately. I tend to be more picky about what I'll review anymore. For one my posts aren't paid for by anyone and they take so much time to write. Pictures to edit. It just takes a lot of time.
The thing is we really enjoy the products we've used from Cave Tools and I have been on the fence about getting a set of Meat Claws lately. Mostly so I can lift roasts out of the pressure cooker or out of pans to place on to cutting boards. So when they contacted me I couldn't resist. They have also offered a coupon code for any of you all who would like a set. I'll post that with links below.

Cave Tools Shish Kabob Barbecue Skewers Review

Sesame Ginger Shish Kabobs
Check out these great Shish Kabob Barbecue Skewers from Cave Tools. I've been looking to invest in some reusable skewers because I really dislike waste, the bamboo skewers also burn easily even when you soak them in water first! Luckily Cave Tools asked me to do another review, so I decided to give these skewers a test drive. I think they are fabulous.
They are easy to use, and easy to clean. Stainless steel to me is easy to clean anyway, but these are also dishwasher safe. These skewers are flat, so food doesn't start spinning when you turn the skewers over on the grill or in the oven.

Cave Tools Pepper Rack For Poppers And More

Grilling season is upon us and one of my favorite sides on the grill are anything to do with jalapenos or chili peppers. I was recently contacted by Cave Tools to see if I would be interested in doing a review for one of their products. They have so many on their site, I've been eyeing these claws though. How great would those be for pulled meats and shredding them for enchiladas and such? I ended up choosing the Cave Tools Pepper Rack because hello, jalapenos on the grill or in the oven. Which is what I opted for.

Crazy Aaron's Puttyworld- REVIEW

What started as a "desk toy" for adults to keep hands busy has become a huge hit for all ages. Thinking Putty was developed by "Crazy Aaron" and is a HUGE hit in our household. When I set about doing this review I was certain my kids would like this putty for all of 20 minutes at the most. After all it's "just putty" right? I was so very wrong for over TWO hours my children played with the Thinking Putty, and since then they have pulled it out several times to play with it. Thinking Putty goes beyond the ordinary with glow in the dark, UV reactive, magnetic, and heat sensitive varieties that come in amazing colors. Thinking putty is made in the USA, it doesn't leave a sticky residue on your hands, and it doesn't smell. It's a fun unique product.

That's a lot of Thinking Putty!!
Thinking Putty is stretchy but bounces like a ball! It tears like paper, and can shatter like ceramic. Super Magnetic Thinking Putty can also be attracted to a magnet and our Hypercolors can change color with the heat from your hand.Unlike all other products, Thinking Putty comes in extra large handfuls and a rainbow of really awesome colors!
A whole 3+ ounces!

My children simply PLAYED with the Thinking Putty. Squishing it, making it pop, stretching it, tearing it, forming it into shapes, and using the magnet that came in our tin of Strange Attractor. We also got a tin of Liquid Glass which is a little different in texture. It's totally clear which is awesome! My oldest loves toys like this which she calls "fidgets", she wants to collect several more of these Thinking Putty tins. What's great about them is that they don't dry up and  are packaged in a 4 inch tin with 3.2 ounces of Thinking Putty in each one! Depending on the type of Thinking Putty some tins come with a strong magnet, or a UV light. Very cool. (Thinking Putty does come in 2 inch tins also, we just have the 4 inch tin.)
Check out this cool Liquid Glass!

Here's more about Crazy Aaron's Thinking Putty-
Kids love the tactile feel of the bouncy, stretchy putty collectively known as Thinking Putty manufactured by Crazy Aaron's Puttyworld. All products are top quality silicone sold in 4” diameter tins and smaller 2” tins. The large Thinking Putty tins serve up 1/5 pound or 3.2 ounces of putty. Best of all, it's completely inert, non-toxic, and safe. And because it's silicone based, not clay or earth-based like other modeling compounds, this moldable putty will never dry out or crumble. The vast online and in-store inventory boasts over 40 awesome colors plus some remarkable effects like glow-in-the-dark, UV reactive, and even crystal clear.
With prices starting at $10 for the large size, these tins make terrific birthday presents, stocking stuffers or good-report-card prizes. Choosing just one style or color will be the toughest choice once in the store or shopping online at parent company Puttyworld's site, www.puttyworld.com. Crazy Aaron serves up items like
Twilight ($11) in the Heat Sensitive Hypercolor series. "Just as an evening sky melts into the dark of night, Twilight Thinking Putty's deep purple color disappears with a touch of heat to reveal a fluorescent blue complexion," reads the online description.
Magnetic!

Current Thinking Putty selections include:

Phantoms • Ages 3+ • $14.95

Now you see it, now you don't! Unlike any Thinking Putty ever made, this unique and new line features two colors: Foxfire and Arctic Flare. The Phantoms have a magic all their own as they react with vibrant colors to UV light. Using the included black light keychain, kids can actually draw and decorate the putty! Buy an extra black light keychain when ordering the putty for just $5.95. Purchased alone, the crazy keychain will run $11.95.

Super Magnetics • Ages 8+ • $14.95

When Super Magnetic Thinking Putty is stretched, molded, or shaped, the putty has no magnetic charge and behaves like any other Thinking Putty. However, in the presence of a magnetic field, its magnetic forces begin to align. Suddenly, a truly Super Magnetic Thinking Putty is created that will attract to one magnetic pole and repel from the other. A super strong ceramic magnet is tucked inside each tin. Choose from colors Tidal Wave, Strange Attractor, Reactive Razz or Quicksilver.

Super Illusions • Ages 3+ • $14

Crazy Aaron worked for years in his basement lab to come up with these mystifying colors like Super Oil Slick. These truly original colors will surprise and delight kids while keeping them playing for hours! And, while indoor lights are great, sunlight makes these colors really explode! Choose one or all three: Super Oil Slick, Super Lava and Super Scarab.

Liquid Glass • Ages 3+ • $14.95

Like glass or ice, this putty is completely clear! Twist it, stretch it, shape it. Its consistency is a bit different than other Thinking Putty, but it is awesome without a doubt.

Heat Sensitive Hypercolors • Ages 3+ • $11

Sensitive to both heat and cold, this putty is thermo chromic -- just a touch from the hands or a warm coffee mug will reveal a new "hot" color. Allow it to cool off or stick it in the fridge! Then the "cool" color will be restored. Choose one of four colors: Twilight, Chameleon, Amethyst Blush and Sunburst.

Glow In The Darks • Ages 3+ • $11

What's hypnotic and irresistible? This tin of putty that looks milky white in daylight yet glows magically when the lights dim. Use Crazy Aaron’s black light keychain to write messages on the putty and draw special designs. Click on the website and Crazy Aaron offers several cool tricks designed just for the Glow in the Dark Thinking Putty. After exposure to light (the brighter, the better), these colors will glow for hours. Choose from colors Krypton (green), Ion (blue), Aura (purple) or Amber (yellow).

Putty Creatures • Ages 3+ • $12

Thinking Putty Creatures have a unique texture and come with two Creature eyes! Tear open the tin and grab your Thinking Putty Creature. Start stretching, twisting, snapping, and pulling. Mold the perfect Creature and then put in the eyes! But do it quickly, because your creature will "melt" in a few minutes and you will have to come up with another awesome design. Choose one of four colors: Green, Orange, Blue or Pink.

You can find Crazy Aaron's Thinking Putting

We also found some tins and a cool display at a cool local toy store!

Groovy Lab In A Box- Review and Giveaway

I'm so excited to share Groovy Lab in a Box with you all. As some of you all know I took the girls out of school for a Science and Engineering festival that was held locally. It was a BLAST. While at the Science and Engineering festival I discovered Groovy Lab in a Box. When we got home I looked it up online and was so intrigued, I did a little more research and contacted the company.
As a mom I feel the pull of wanting my children to explore their interests and squeezing in all that they need to learn in school (sometimes the other way around too). I'm always looking for ways to encourage and cultivate their love of science and engineering in ways that are fun and interesting. The thing is we don't have a lot of time to set things up, find supplies, etc. Groovy Lab in a box gathers all that the children and I need for some fun STEM (Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) activities to be the little STEMist they are.
So here's the rundown on Groovy Lab in a Box. Groovy Lab in a Box is a fantastic learning tool that focuses on STEM  for ages 8-12 or grades 3-5.  It is a subscription service and you can choose 1, 3, 6, 12 month subscriptions. The boxes are delivered right to your door and they include all your STEMist needs for that months hands-on projects and engineering design challenge. When I say that this box includes all you need, I'm not kidding. If you need a single glue dot, it's in the box. Lab notebooks, goggles, compostable spoon/box/cup, everything we needed. I was also pleased to read a little card in our box letting us know that while Groovy Lab in a Box had changed it's name from Einstein in a box that they were using up their packaging because they are an environmentally aware company. In fact just about everything in our box was reusable, recyclable, or compostable.

Pictured above are the components that came in our box. The Lab notebook was perfect for my 8 and 9 year old to read out loud. The language was easy to read and understand, the graphics are clear, simple with clean lines so they are easy to understand. There are also definitions of some words and a small history on the catapult.

The girls and I read about the history of the catapult. Then we talked about Elastic Energy and sorted the contents of our box by material, listing each one in the chart that came in the Lab notebook.

Each of my girls built a catapult.  They took turns launching items, my oldest recorded all of the data and predictions. These boxes can be done with one or multiple children. I liked that my children we able to work together and talk through each activity.

We're already planning to make a few of these Trampoline Catapults to have some pom pom battles.

One of the really awesome things about Groovy Lab in a Box is that there is so much to explore BEYOND  the box. There are Stop signs throughout the Lab notebook for the children to investigate further. There are fun and interesting videos which is perfect because it helped my girls see things in action, see projects and ideas in "real life". Most of the videos are just a few minutes long.

While my oldest built the Trigonal Pyramidal Catapult, my youngest built some ammonia molecules and other molecules with our personal set, these didn't come in the box. But the Lab notebook mentioned ammonia molecules and it's trigonal shape. It was great to keep my youngest learning and exploring while her older sisters built the next catapult.

All of these projects were so fun. The Engineering Design Challenge was for the girls to design (and redesign :) ) and build their own catapult using only the box and it's contents. This is an ongoing project around here. I hope to update with the girls creation at some point before school starts, but I don't want to rush them or the process. Hopefully I'll have some picture updates for you.

All in all the Groovy Lab in a Box is amazing. As a mom I love that it's not a box that can be gone through in one afternoon, then set aside. It takes time to do each section of the Lab notebook, for the kids to explore and investigate, build, and record data. The box makes learning fun, it challenges children to take chances and think big. Beyond the Box, as I said is such a great tool. The videos and information on there is great to see STEM in "action".

Hello everyone! Summer is in full swing here! I have a wonderful giveaway to share with you all. If you've been here a while you may recognize these super cool bracelets from Pickture That! I did a full review and giveaway in 2011 of this company and their product. Well, I'm pleased to say that my bracelet from 2011 is still as beautiful as when I got it. Pickture That! makes photo bracelets that are scratch, stain, and water resistant. They come in two widths and are adjustable.
I love that I can customize with any pictures I want. I recently ordered one of these for my mom. Ordered as in paid for, not was given one for review. That's how much I love these bracelets. I also received a bracelet for review in the new Summer Love size, only because I already have a Georgia Rose.
Above you can see a picture of my bracelets. Please note, the pictures on my bracelets are CRYSTAL clear and in focus as I sent them in. I just don't like posting too many pictures of my children so these are a bit blurry.
My Georgia Rose is the wider cuff and I chose sepia tone pictures. My Summer Love cuff I decided to use full color photos that I took of the girls a while back. Both of these bracelets can be worn with so many different outfits. I like that I can have personalized pieces that are very much a reflection of me and my personal style. I also like the price point for these fun pieces. Under $30! Really! They are also made here in the US of A folks!

Here's a little more about the differences in these two styles from the Pickture That! site.
$26
This design displays more photos than our original bracelet and is perfect for your favorite Instagram photos. It’s the perfect size to wear with all your favorite accessories.

Groovy Girls- Review and Giveaway

Groovy Girls® Phenomenon Rings In 2014 With Special Sweet 16 Dolls Plus New Core Dolls And Accessories
Since 1998 Groovy Girls has been part of the toy scene, The Manhattan Toy company introduced these sweet, fun, and funky dolls to the world! It all started with four soft sculptured dolls, Liza, Lupe, Lexi, and Lucy. Sixteen years later this great company is still winning awards like the Parents Choice awards! The Manhattan Toy Company is introducing three Special Edition Sweet 16 Dolls and four "Core" dolls that start with the letter "B" -- Brooklyn, Bailey, Bayani and Brenna. Starting at $15 for the new 2014 core dolls and $20 for the Special Edition dolls, Groovy Girls are a great deal!
As their brand points out, "what makes Groovy Girls different from other dolls and other licensed properties is a deeper more compelling message for both children and parents. Each Groovy Girls character has a unique, one of a kind look expressed in her hairstyle, skin tone and hip outfit — just like girls in real life!" The brand encourages developing a girl’s sense of self identity and individualism
Toy industry judges were enchanted with the doll line almost from the start. The "Girls" became trademarked in 2001 due to whopping sales and were nominated by the Toy Industry Association as both the Girl Toy Of The Year and the Specialty Toy Of The Year beating out thousands of established manufacturers. Two years later, at the peak of their popularity, they won both 2003 TIA titles! Over the years The Manhattan Toy Company has partnered with Scholastic and the Girl Scouts Of the USA to
bring the Groovy Girls message of individuality, respect and courage into more homes and hearts.
The kids were thrilled to be able to play with the Groovy Girls Totally Tentastic! My favorite part is that there's no assembly. Really I was so thrilled about this. The kids could pull it out of the (minimal- yay!) packaging and just start playing. The tent is realistic, it as a fabric floor, zippered entrance. Even the windows on the sides have flaps to pull down or secure up for play. Three dolls fit into the tent.
the colors are fun, bright, and bold.
Groovy dolls are soft, each one is unique in style, skin tone, hair color, facial expression, and hip outfit. Just like all girls! Bayani, our doll has fun purple in her hair and a sweet smile on her face. Because she's soft Pixie kept cuddling her, and she's okay to sleep with! It's so great that these dolls celebrate friendship and diversity. Strength can be found in being yourself!

Coco Jack- Review and Giveaway

Oh Coco Jack. How I love thee, let me count the ways...
Some of you who know me or have read Give Peas A Chance for awhile now know that I'm not down with "one hit wonders" in my TINY kitchen. It just doesn't happen, it can't happen really because there's no room. But the Coco Jack is so worth the precious real estate it takes up in the Peas kitchen. Okay the Coco Jack itself not big at all, I'm just a bit dramatic. Not about my kitchen though. It's small.
Are you wondering what on earth a Coco Jack is? Behold, the awesomeness that is Coco Jack in this video below

I mean really. Right? Talk about easy! Before I tell you more about the Coco Jack I want to share my story about Thai Young Coconuts and a gorgeous cleaver that met it's match...
For years I didn't buy Thai Young Coconuts unless my mom was around. Ever. I mean the kids love them, I just don't  didn't want to mess with them. Hacking away on one with a cleaver, using sharp tools like screwdrivers and hammers that belong in the garage. Nope. Not for me. Well one time my mom was visiting and we bought some coconuts, she used my beautiful cleaver to hack away at the Young Coconut and the blade was ruined. I'm talking hundreds of dollars, send it in for help and repair. Hot. Mess. After that I only ordered coconuts in restaurants. It sucked that such a delicious, healthy snack/drink couldn't be enjoyed easily at home without using tool that weren't food safe.
I first saw the Coco Jack on Instagram. Several things went through my mind. All at once. What!? This product looks amazing. I need this in my life. There's no way it works that quick? Could it possibly be that easy? Why didn't someone think of this before? How do I get one of these? What if it doesn't work? I need to try this. So I contacted the nice people at Coco Jack and asked them about their product. I watched You Tube videos. Then my Coco Jack Pack arrived looking all cool with it's Coco sack.

This pack includes
1 Coco Jack
1 Coco Mallet
1 Coco Scoop
1 Coco Sack

Here are the spec's on these awesome tools
Coco Jack's entire line of tools is:
100% Food Safe Stainless Steel
100% Food Safe Plastic
100% Made in USA

The Coco Jack comes with a lifetime guarantee when purchased with their Coco Mallet.
Coco Jack comes with a specially designed shock absorbing grip, the material was originally developed to absorb the vibration from motorized lawn mowers.
The stainless steel Coco Scoop is custom designed with a patent pending to get all the meat out of your coconut in one scoop.
The Coco Mallet is made of high quality food safe plastic.
This is my seven year old, opening her own coconut!

That's all great and dandy, but are you wondering about all those questions I had? Let me answer them for you.
  1.  There's no way it works that quick?- YES it does. Watch their videos HERE, it really works that fast. I'm talking 20 seconds for me to open a coconut safely. Less than fifty seconds for my 7 year old, see the picture above!
  2. Could it possibly be that easy?- It's that easy.
  3. Why didn't someone think of this before?- I have no idea. I'm glad these people did though.
  4. How do I get one of these?- See the links below and above to grab a Coco Jack for yourself.
  5. What if it doesn't work?- It works. Trust me, it works. Coco Jack is so well made and sturdy it will last you also. I mean come on, lifetime guarantee because they know it's going to last.

Eshakti Dresses Coupon Code and DEAL ALERT

Tipped trim Peter Pan collar dress

Squee Eshakti! How totally cute is this dress above!? It's so lovely and fits me so well. I have a confession I really dislike buying clothing for myself online. I feel my body is wonky and not in proportion with dress makers/clothing makers. I wear a 2 at one store, a 8 in another store. It's so frustrating. Even with measurements it's hard. But the dresses on Eshakti are so cute and I had to try buying from them. I'll admit my first order I didn't think the dress fit me well. But it wasn't a huge deal, their return policy is awesome, if you choose the Gift Card option you get refunded for the item value PLUS 20% more. I mean really. It was an easy decision for me. (See below for the awesome deal I have for you!)

At Eshakti, most of the dresses come with POCKETS. I love having pockets! You can opt to have them removed also, but they come in handy. On most of the dresses you can pick sleeve length and style, you can customize the neckline, and/or the length of your dress!

If you sign up under my referral link you'll get $35 off your first order, FREE customization on your first order, and there's a code for 10% off right now. See below. Such an awesome deal right?
I'll have to post a picture of my dress on. I actually have three more on the way since I wanted to take advantage of the code and Buy 2 Get 1 free deal.
Check out the details below.

Buy TWO get ONE free
Use my referral link for $35 off (minimum order of $20)

AWESOME DEAL!

Have a return? Returns are easy and awesome if you use the Gift Card option.
Gift card option - for the item value plus 20% more
For example, if you order something worth $50, you will get a gift card worth $60, valid for 12 months from the date of issue.
What are you waiting for? Have you ordered from Eshakti before? What did you get? What would you order?

This is not a paid or promoted post. I purchased my items on my own. I am just sharing because I really like this company, and I know the deals right now are good ones.
