Adventures of Joy and Angel Day 14

Yesterday Joy got into my salt, which was my fault because I didn't have a table salt container around. So I guess I'll be scrubbing my cast iron and stoneware.
I decided not to post yesterday because of what happened in Newtown, Ct. I don't do a lot of heart blogging here. I generally save that for Chaotic Balance. But. Here I am. My heart aches for those who are mourning the loss of their loved ones. Their babies. I at times get angry. So angry. WHY!? WHY!? WHY!?? Then looking over at a toy making a snow angel in salt... Sigh. Even more questions.
“Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the LORD, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool."

Random post...

Don't forget the TWO giveaways
Jessie Steel ends on July 1

Summer is more than officially here. Yesterday I took the girls to the Harbor in Baltimore. It was so fun. We ... ok, they played on the splash pad. Made new friends. We had some lunch at Unos. Then we rode these Dragon paddle boats. The girls wanted to paddle. I pretty much knew I'd be the one paddling but there you go. Aren't they cute though? I love when the harbor is full of people and vendors. The water is dotted with these paddle boats. So very fun!

Bento confession...

I have a confession to make about bentos, and bento lunches. But first I wanted to say that I have not been using my bento boxes as much for the girls because they seem to be having issues putting everything back together after they eat, even if I tell them to just throw it back in the bag. So the lock and locks are great because everything stays in the box and you throw the lid back on. Anyway on to the confession. I don't like food mixing and touching. I like sectioned plates, I have sectioned plates. I use sectioned plates. I mean maybe not all the time but I do. Some foods are ok to touch, like... potatoes and gravy. I am OK with potatoes and gravy touching. But other foods touching? Ugh, the thought just makes me weak in the knees. That's one of the reasons I like separate containers for everything and it's also the reason I don't pack my bentos tight with all the food nicely nestled together, sure people use dividers and stuff, but seriously? juices run and food still mixes and touches. Oh the horror. I can't stand it, yes I am a bit OCD, it's a gift... and a curse :-) (and all the Monk fans know what I am talking about.)
That there is my confession, I like to pack bento lunches but I don't like foods mixing and touching... there you go.

Popcorn chicken, crackers and cheese, red velvet cake, and strawberries.

Pixie trying to get a hold of the chocolate fondue dippings... cream puffs, pretzels, strawberries, oreos, bananas and pound cake.

Oven "fried" chicken and spaghetti squash.

Vanilla bean French Toast

I uploaded these next two pictures three times and they refuse to upload the right way, just tilt your head to the left and they should look decent.
But they both have molded eggs which I cut in half filled with deviled egg filling and put back together, one is a fish the other is a car. Carrot sticks, ranch dressing, Cheetos and string cheese. The theme was orange and white...
