Free Friday Week in Review on Instagram 5/22-5/28

Hello!! It's FRIDAY! I love Fridays. It's also one week closer to school being out for the kids. Are the kids in your area out for the summer? Do any of you all have year round school? This week has been so different as far as weather from the past couple weeks. It's been so sunny and kind of HOT. Well, 80 degrees F but still, HOT.
One of the biggest things this week is Memorial day. So often I think of how blessed we are that DH came home to us... so many have not. I pray for our Gold star families and think of them often, especially on Memorial day. I hope you all had a great week.

Here is this past weeks recap:
Two of our children lot a tooth this week. I need to get back to the bank and get another roll of gold coins because that was the last for the roll I had! We don't really do the whole tooth fairy thing. They know I put the money out, but it's still fun!

Free Friday Week 5/15-5/21 in Review

Happy Friday! Here's a recap of our week last week.
So, last week was Starbucks Happy Hour. We didn't go often, actually we only went twice in the almost three weeks that they held the special. Still it was fun. Except that I ordered Decaf, and I'm pretty sure I was given fully caffeinated coffee. I'm shaking thinking about it!

Free Friday Week 5/8-5/14 in Review

Welcome to another Free Friday. Here are some highlights from last week that I posted on Instagram! If you're on Instagram, come say "hi" I'd love to see your feed! Don't forget to check out some of the accounts I posted below!
The girls reading before bedtime, I love that they love to read, it drives me crazy that they get so sucked in that it's hard to get their attention. I suspect there could be worse problems.

Sherlock Lives, here's your blanket.

This has nothing to do with food. That's okay. I've been waiting over a year, maybe two? For Season 3 of BBC's Sherlock. I don't know if I ever shared this? I made it in 2013. February of 2013. On Someecards.

Well, Season 3 has come (and gone for those with access to BBC UK). I've only seen episode one. It hasn't quite soaked in yet, though I've seen it twice. I find I have to watch an episode, oh.. 5 times to catch everything. But for anyone just joining me, I'm going to share some silly meme's I've made in the upcoming weeks. But first, here's your blanket-

Welcome to the madness.

Summer Bucket List Progress

(Blessed is the one) whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on HIS law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither - whatever they do prospers Psalm 1:2-3
This is not going to be my last Summer Bucket List 2013 post. Nope. I'm going to probably post my last check the list off next week. Because we're going camping, and while the girls had  their first day of school today, it's still "summer".
To see pictures of us and our Summer Bucket List Fun, check Instagram HERE. Are you on instagram? Follow @Peasknees and tag #sbl2013 #peasblog and #summerbucketlist so I can see all the fun you're having!
What about you, do you have a bucket list this summer? What should I add to ours?

Story

I took this picture while the girls were swimming one day. In the creek. EWW. I'm talking live fish, half dead fish, fish poop, all that stuff. I was like UGH, don't open your mouth! LOL. I'm such a spaz.

Story.

My story.
It's complicated, in some ways anyway.
But it's mine.
I mean when you boil it all down and plot it on the timeline of eternity it's not so complicated.
It is the story of -
Beginnings
Endings
Failures
Victories
Redemption
Forgiveness
Grace
Love
Struggle
Blessings
Chaotic Balance
Being a mama.
Just life.
But life... it isn't "just".
It's pretty stinking-
Awesome
Busy
Fun
Crazy
Went to dinner with a friend this week.
It was so perfect.
The timing, the place.
The company, expected and unexpected.
I just needed to get away.
I needed and craved adult conversation.
I needed to not be seen as just a mom.
Being a mom is a big part of my story.
But it's not the only part.
I have three kids.
(And Piece Of Me just popped into my head. Yes, Britney... Spears. Kinda fitting.)
I can't would never want to change that.
Being a SAHM in a city of PHD's and career driven people isn't easy though.
There's NOTHING wrong with being career driven.
NOTHING wrong with working parents.
Working moms.
Let's face it, some mom's are BETTER mom's because they are working.
Some mom's want to work, some mom's need to work.
But all mom's work. Even the SAHM's.

STOP
(Holy cow, I just rambled and made no sense. Hello, that's so me. I can't write my story in 5 minutes.)

Any pictures, captions of pictures, blog post title, are added after the 5 minutes.

Present- #FiveminuteFriday #FMFParty

Present
It's 2448 presently.
I have writers block.
There's a huge thunderstorm outside.
It sounds magnficent.
Squiggly red line.
I can't spell magnificent, ohh but I did that time.
Time.
I tend to think on the past a lot.
Good times.
Times of trial.
Times of trouble.
Times of blessing, and abundance.
Times of growth.
Times I faltered.
Sinned.
Let's not sugar coat it.
I could see God, in most all of it.
Even before I KNEW Him.
I could see His hand in my life in the past.
I don't understand it all.
There's still pain.
Beauty from ashes right?
The Lord will restore the years the locusts have eaten.
In the present I feel as if I'm in limbo.
Past?
Nope. Not there.
Future?
Not there yet.
Present.
Yes here.
Feeling in between.
But also knowing that it IS a gift.
In THIS present time.
I am a SAHM.
I am so thankful and blessed to be a SAHM.
I love where I am in that.
Where He has me.
I am still a sinner.
I am still loved.
Still forgiven.
In the present.
Always forgiven.
Not just the past.
Not just the present.
But also in the future.
Mercy.
Grace.
I am....
out of time.

Beautiful - #fiveminuteFriday #FMFparty

Beautiful is the topic/word/theme for this weeks Five Minute Friday.

The first thing that popped into my head was "Something Beautiful" by the Newsboys.
Things that are beautiful to me
Salvation.
Redemption.
Both have been on my heart extra this past week.
Elohai yish'i
(God of my salvation)
Jesus.
Messiah.
Freedom.
Victory.
Kinsman Redeemer.
Something Beautiful.
The Kinsman Redeemer painted out in the book of Ruth.
Not just MERCY.
Grace. Abundant, Beautiful.
We saw fireworks today.
Something Beautiful.
Light piercing through the dark night sky.
Darkness tried to hide.
Light permeates.
Warth.
Love.
Something Beautiful.
Perfect Love.
Time with my girls.
Blessings of a stay at home mom.
Something Beautiful.
It rained, POURED a couple of days ago.
Warm, cleansing rain.
The girls got to play in it.
I chased them out the door.
To splash.
Play.
Float leaf boats down little streams.
Something Beautiful.
Life.
Life lived.
Precious.
Beautiful.
Everlasting.
Something TRULY Beautiful.
Not always SEEN.
But sometimes felt.
ALWAYS there, regardless.
Surgery. Today.
My eyes.
I'm nervous.
Worried.
What if I can't see after?
See
my children.
Their faces.
Their smiles.
It's in His hands.
Trust is Something Beautiful.
Safety.
Under His wings.
Something Beautiful.

STOP.
***PS if you are leaving a comment from the FMF blog hop, if I don't get back to your blog ASAP it's because I'm having surgery,  I will be back to monitor and leave comments soon***

GPAC Salted Caramel Sauce

Oh (hurricane) Sandy. Just go away already. We still have power right now. I shouldn't have said that. Oh well. It's cold, wet, and windy. I made it to the post office and the drug store. Now we're hanging out watching The Chronicles of Narnia- The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I decided to make a Salted Caramel Sauce for the girls to dip their apples in. It's so good we burnt our tongues eating it, it's cooled down now and is warm, but it's almost all gone. It would be good with graham crackers and on top of ice cream. Drizzled on cupcakes too. I dropped off the jar and apples in the picture to our neighbors quick like, so just bakers twine and a mommy card.
This caramel sauce is very easy to make. I didn't use a candy thermometer. Just basic ingredients, and maybe 10 minutes and you're done.

She just might blow over...

Hurricane Sandy that is. By the time she reaches where I am she won't be on water, she is being called a "Super storm" and even a "Franken storm" though. The thing about where we live is that the power goes out often. Big storm, little storm, it doesn't matter. I can't tell you how much food I've thrown away. This summer we were without power for almost a week. I think the longest time we've been without power (here) is about ten days. DH was adding it up and we were out of power for about a month if you add it up the first year we were here. And we had just moved here from the Panhandle, so we were used to hurricanes and having power out. But not like this, the power here is RE-DUNK-U-LOUS.
What's my point? Just that if you don't see me around, my power is out. Any giveaways that need "tending" to I'll get to ASAP. I do have some scheduled posts. Until then our readers are charged, phones charged, batteries, candles, have been gathered, and I picked up some water and snacky foods. The girls and I were talking about how thankful we were that it was fall. In the summer it's unbearable, the heat. We have a gas stove so we can still cook. But, I've said it all week. I've got too much darn bacon in the freezer for this nonsense.
Sigh. (#firstworldproblems)
Seriously though, stay safe, be prepared. Prayers to those affected by this storm and those who have lost loved ones.
