I found these blank garden labels on Amazon they are from Bosmere USA. A great company, I contacted them with questions and they got right back to me. I recently ordered a second set from them. I used my metal stampers to stamp names on them then used a sharpie to fill in the letter indentations. They came out so cute.

Under Bed Lego Tray
So, I've been busy trying to get unpacked and set up our new home. One of the projects I really wanted to do was to make a Lego tray, this one is an under bed Lego tray. But it can be used for so many other toys. Because I wanted it to be useable for other toys I did not glue any Lego building plates to the bottom of this. Originally I just wanted to get an aluminum drip pan and put something under it to slide it under the bed. Then there was the problem of sliding stuff across wood floors. How sturdy the tray would be if we just glued felt to the bottom, would it work if it wasn't flat? Stuff like that. My mother in law was here visiting and the more we talked about it the more ideas we had. That tends to happen a lot, we have tons of ideas, and some of them come to fruition. When they do, they are awesome. It also helps that she's really good with stuff like this. I mean, really, I wouldn't even try to attempt something like this without her. Funny thing is, she helped build one 90% of the way and had to go home so I had no choice to finish and do the second one! I couldn't believe I actually built it! I'm so glad it happened that way because now I have a little more confidence, maybe I'll hang some pictures on the wall or something. Who knows.

Summer Bucket List 2014
It's Summer around here! We decided we'd do a little bucket list even though it seems that summer is getting shorter and shorter :( I feel that the days are just rushing by. But I cam so incredibly blessed to be able to be home with the girls during this time. It's maybe a good thing no one seems to want to hire me :0.
We aren't traveling this summer, with no plans for anything and I'm so thankful for that. We've just been hanging out. It's been wonderful! I've been behind on blogging in general, but I assure you I'll be back full force. Or I'm praying so, right now I'm just soaking up my time with my family.

Cuppow BNTO Gift Jars
I'm always late getting "holiday" posts up. Truth is, I blog as I go and I don't normally plan posts months ahead. If you are looking to be a great blogger, or even a successful blogger do not use my model of blogging :P
Anyway, I think Cuppow rocks. I'm also a mason jar hoarder, I mean, fan. I think that using them as gift jars not only is eco friendly, but it's so fun! The gift recipient gets fun gifts AND the jar and Cuppow is a gift in itself! So Here's a fun little gift all "wrapped" up for you to see using a Cuppow lid and BNTO
From left to right-
Wonder Woman socks

Heart links
Hello Kitty Necklace

Lip balm
Nail polish
Cuppow lid and BNTO
How cute is that! It all closes up nice and tight. So very fun!
A little about Cuppow, we've used them since 2012, you can see my review HERE. Since then the company has grown and the product line has expanded. However, what I love about Cuppow remains:

- American Made
- Environmentally Aware
- Family Friendly- we use these lids for smoothies, coffee, water, to pour homemade dressings. They are great for sugar and other spices also. The BNTO are perfect for foods, salad in a jar, parfait, and more.
- Free of BPA, phthalates, and BP
- Charity- We are proud to commit 5% of profits toward supporting other like-minded organizations and domestic charities that focus on engaging people on environmental stewardship, recycling, and social awareness.
Above is a Thai beef salad layered in the jar. The BNTO cup has plain Greek yogurt with local honey. It closes up nice and tight!

Valentine's Day Gifts and Cards
WOW. Talk about waayy behind right? I still wanted to share the Valentine's that the kids gave to their friends this year.
Pixie handed out these little make your own Snowmen kits. It's funny, because I just happened to have these and the movie Frozen came out so Snowmen were perfect for an Olaf card. I had the pack of the Snowmen from Target's Christmas clearance. The pack of 20 was originally $5, and I got it for $1.25 I made the printable in black and white because I figured the kids could color it in if they wanted to.
Diva gave out these great pencils that have tongue twisters on them from Super Duper Publications. I found the Ventricular, is that the word? Where the image changes when you move the item? These little stars "wink" when moved. Anyway. They were a steal, I found them at Target for 75% off at the Dollar Spot! There was maybe 12 in each bag too! She wrote on the back of each one.
Piglet is BIG into robots and robotics right now, so these sticker packs from Target were PERFECT. She just opened up each one and wrote a message on them for each of her friends.
So those were our Valentine's this year. Simple but still fun, and NO candy!

Etched Glass Tutorial- Doctor Who
Okay, ya'll I'm a glass etching fool. I want to etch everything in sight. I know there are tons of tutorials on Glass Etching out there, but this is the method that works best for me, so I thought I would share it with you all. Now, this may not be the method that works for you. you may have a better method (feel free to share it in the comments section) but this is what works for me. A friend of mine sent me the vinyl decals, so I can't tell you how to get or make those. She used a die cutting machine, and if you google "Doctor Who Silhouette Vinyl" some free designs will come up.
I try to choose glass items that have straight sides. Sometimes imperfections in the glass will show through or be highlighted by the etching cream.
Here is another project I did, a Doctor Who vase. I LOVE LOVE how it turned out.
I want to do some casserole dishes and such, but I don't have a die cutting machine yet. I have heard it's harder to etch on Pyrex, some tutorials say you can't do it. I haven't tried so I can't help you there.

So, here's how I etch glass. You can scroll past all these pictures for an easier to read version.
Items I used (not all are pictured above)
1. Take the tweezers and remove any area on your vinyl that you want to be etched. Any vinyl left on there will not come in contact with the cream. In this case, I left the panel's on the Tardis, but took off the window panels. Leave the backing ON the vinyl.
I also accidentally took panel out. On the right side there. Oops. Once you've removed the areas that you want etched just give it a once over to make sure you like where all the white areas are. Because that is is what will show up as etched.
2. Take a piece of contact paper. Remove the backing and place it on top of the vinyl. Careful not to get air bubbles under it.
3. Take the gift card and smooth out the contact paper, rubbing over the small detail areas of your design. I had to do this where the black panels I left were. This is to make sure those details stick to the contact paper.
4. Clean the surface of the glass with the alcohol wipe. Let it dry. After this step be careful where you place your fingers/hands. You don't want the natural oils in your skin to leave prints where you etch your design.
5. Remove the backing from your vinyl. Leaving the design, and outline attached to the contact paper.
6. Place the contact paper with vinyl onto the glass surface. This needs to be a smooth application, any wrinkles or bubbles and etch cream will get under there. I find it easiest to place one side of the vinyl/contact paper down, and smooth the rest down with the gift card.
7. Rub the gift card over the design to make sure that when you lift the contact paper off, the designs will stick to the glass. Make sure the application is smooth.
8. Carefully peel off the contact paper.
9. At this point you can use a damp towel to clean the design area, just do not use alcohol. the vinyl will come up. I don't always do this step, it just depends on my mood.
10. Take contact paper, the same piece you just peeled off if you'd like. Tape all around the outer edges of the vinyl with the contact paper, you can use tape too. I just use the contact paper. Waste not, want not right?.ANY area that you don't want etched on accident, should be taped/covered. You can see that this Tardis has a good perimeter around it, I still put contact paper on the bottom.
11. Put the gloves on. Open the jar of Etching Cream. Stir it with the paint brush.
12. Dab a generous amount of cream over the design.
13. Wait 5 minutes.
14. After five minutes take your brush and move the cream around, making sure the whole surface is covered. Check the underside to see if you have good coverage.
14. Wait another 5 minutes, or ten...
15. Take your paint brush and scrape the excess etching cream off of the glass and put it back into the jar. Close it up for later use.
16. Wash the remaining etching cream off in the sink with cold water. Use the paint brush to loosen the cream if needed.
17. Remove vinyl and any tape and wash your jar well. The design will show up better once the glass is completely dry. Hot water makes removal of vinyl very easy.

Fibre-Craft text-UR Foam- GIVEAWAY
Do you know a child that loves to create? My girls do. Drawing, cutting paper, building things with everyday objects, molding clay (ugh), painting (oy), gluing things (HELP), all wonderful things. Sometimes just plain ol' messy though. The clay, paint, glue, GLITTER. I often find myself redirecting the girls towards something else, or letting them know that they can't use certain items unless an adult is IN the room. Because let's face it, us artsy types can get pretty messy in our creative endeavors. I tend to seek out crafting items and projects that don't require my supervision, or help. I don't mind helping a little, but I want the girls to be independent too while they create. Fibre-Craft text-UR Foam is one of those products. All of my girls can use the products independently. There's no glue needed. The colors are fun and the texture is unique.
What's also great about this text-UR Foam is that there are kits where you can make different projects- they are precut and ready to go, and there are also kits where you get sheets and adhesive squares that are great for when your kids are feeling even more creative. I love that the texture adds an element of fun and the 3D pop out also adds another element of fun. My girls made some magnets for our fridge. I had set these kids and foam sheets out one day for the older girls. Pixie was on the couch laying down, she was feeling so sick. But she saw the kits and wanted to play also. I just handed her the Owl kit, and she laid there on the couch putting it together all by herself. It was the perfect quiet activity for her when she was feeling down. There was no glue or scissors that she had to mess with. See her owl posted in the picture above? Not bad for a four year old (she just turned 5 last week).
Here she is putting her owl together.

American Girl Ice Cream Social- Birthday Party
I tell you. The girls strung the signs so that H that's so far away from the "appy" is kinda bugging me. Yes, I'm a firstborn. Sigh, not that it matters. I'm so glad the girls helped and had fun.
I know that today is technically Take It Tuesday, but I haven't packed but one lunch. School is starting though, like next week. I'll pack some then. Today I want to share Diva's American Girl Ice Cream Social birthday party. We love our parties here on Give Peas A Chance. She was allowed to invite just a handful of girls to join us for an afternoon of crafts, carousel rides, glitter tattoos, and ice cream social madness. I kid, it wasn't madness it was really fun! I can't believe I have a NINE year old though. I'm old. Happy Birthday sweet girl!! We're so blessed to have you in our lives.
This post is going to be picture heavy, so get ready for it.

Let's start with food. Really though, there wasn't food. Just ... sweets.
I forgot the platter I was going to put her "cake" on... and the candles. Will I ever remember the candles? So Diva, just like Piglet, did the "pretend to blow out the candles" thing. Oh well. Anyway. The cake was three cupcakes, and a sugar cone that I tacked down to the lid of ... I don't know what that lid is from? Anyway. I tacked down the sugar cone, and cupcakes with frosting. Put the cupcakes and cone on top of the frosting. Then I grabbed a jar of sprinkles and dumped it in there. (This party was not here at home, or I would have found a platter, I was improvising.)
So we had vanilla ice cream. Just vanilla to keep it simple.

Shaped Crayon Up-cycle
Up-cycled crayons, nothing new of course. I used to sell these on Love Abounds. I have molds coming out my ears! Okay, maybe not that many. But I do have quite a few, and we always have crayons laying around. Broken ones. This year for Valentine's day Piglet, I posted pictures HERE, will be giving these to her classmates. I have an extra dozen or so for Pixie to pass out to friends. Which to her is any random little person we see while out and about. So cute.

These crayons are great as a gift for classmates, party favors. They are awesome for younger kids since they are so big and chunky they don't break easily. Plus you use old crayons, can't beat that right? Don't have molds? No worries, you can bake these in those nut cups/ cupcake lines. The ones that hold their shape without a tin. Once baked and cooled you can just peel off the paper. Though they release fairly easy in those cups. You can also have you children make a little mold from aluminum foil to bake in. Just make sure it's thick enough and has a flat surface so that it doesn't rock. If you bake these in a muffin tin, just know that you will not be cooking with that tin again.
You can also clean out empty food cans, and heat the crayons over a burner. With this method you can make stacked rainbow crayons, I'm going to fill old glue sticks this way, if I can ever collect enough empty containers. *I tried a chap-stick container- hot mess. It wouldn't twist up, I'll try again but not anytime soon. Still haven't tried the glue sticks though!

Noel Banner tutorial
First things first, I didn't take that gorgeous picture up there, or the gorgeous one below. Felipe of Petruzzo Photography just took our holiday pictures, and he took these for us. I made the banner for the photo shoot. I can't wait to put it up for the holidays! I am not really that crafty, this was just a little Modge Podge, ribbon, wood boards, sealing spray, and craft paint. But I love the way it turned out! The wooden boards are from Pick Your Plum, follow the link to win a Plumbox. They were just blanks, but cut out and pre-drilled with holes.
I'd love to know if you make this, or what you think of it, leave me a comment and let me know!

FOE Hair Tie Tutorial
I got a lot of FOE (Fold Over Elastic) from Pick Your Plum in my Plumbox, you can see it and win one here. I don't sew much, my sewing machine is in storage anyway, so I decided to make these hair ties. They are soft and they don't pull on the hair. They aren't hard to make either, there are tutorials all over for them. Not that you need one, you just tie them, them seal the ends.
If you decided to buy these hair ties though they can cost anywhere from $3- $12 a pack. You can get FOE for as little as $0.50 a yard, I found some here. Or wait for some to shop up on Pick Your Plum.
I also made these gift tags on Paper Coterie, I made them generic on purpose. I also put a small picture of the girls on the back with a message. Perfect for putting on gifts for classmates.

Pick Your Plum- GIVEAWAY
I can't even begin to tell you how awesome Pick Your Plum is. It's this amazing fun site that offers great deals on craft items, clothing, party supplies, home goods, and so much more. Their staff/customer service is top notch. They have emailed me within hours each time I've contacted them with questions, or to ask if I could add something to my order- which you can't add once you put in your order. No big deal though, they just had me put in a new order for what I needed, and they canceled my first order. Within hours.
The Pick Your Plum's daily offers range from so many items, as mentioned before. There is one offer a day. You can usually get a heads up on their Facebook page of what the deal is. You can also be in the "know" for when they stock Plum boxes (like grab bags FULL of swanky items). This my friends is awesome. Plum boxes are usually flat rate boxes filled to the brim with goodies. Above is my first box that Pick Your Plum sent me for review. How lovely is that? That romper fits my four year old. The bags I used for party favors HERE. So many fun items that I'll actually use!

Once Pick Your Plum announces that these boxes will be stocked (they give a good 24 hours notice) set your clocks. They sell out fast, the last time they had 300 of them and they sold out in 12 minutes. No lie. I snagged one of those (pictured below) and this is what was in it. Detailed description in this post HERE. I'll be stalking these grab boxes whenever I can! This was a $30 box. Shipping is reasonable, this was a flat rate box- medium. (In the US that is!)

Little flags for cupcakes and appetizers |
For Diva's Spa Party I dyed the skewers I used for the bacon with food coloring. It's so easy to do. Add a little Washi tape and you have cute cupcake toppers, food picks for lunches and sandwiches, and little flags.
I just put the picks and skewers in water with a little food coloring in it. Let them soak up some color. Then let them dry before putting tape on them. If you're going to put them in the oven just use them while they are still wet.

Pink Lemonade Lip Balm
For Diva's Spa Party we made some very simple, easy lip balm. We used petroleum jelly, cosmetic glitter, and pink lemonade mix. It was easy. The kids helped stir it up. But there wasn't much to do. I thought about doing a coconut oil beeswax lip balm. I'm glad I didn't, there was so much going on, simple was best for this party.
Pink Lemonade Lip Balm
Petroleum Jelly
Cosmetic glitter
Pink Lemonade powder- I used Crystal Light
Containers
Put the Petroleum jelly in a microwavable bowl. Heat the jelly until warm and a little runny. Stir in glitter and Pink Lemonade powder. Keep stirring and reheat if needed to combine. Put into containers, let cool.

Free Friday- Heartschooling
We don't home school. But, every weekday Pixie and I work on her numbers, letters, counting, sorting, cutting, grouping, and what not ;)
It's fun, she loves it, and we're learning a lot together.

I saw this finger painting in a baggie idea on Pinterest. It's nice because the paint stays wet and you can use it over and over again.

Sparkly Citrus Lavender Hand Scrub
During Diva's Birthday Brunch we made three things the girls could take home. This Citrus Lavender Hand Scrub was one of the items. It's so easy to make, and I let the girls help. You can make this with any essential oils you would like. I also had cosmetic glitter on hand for the girls to put in. We only used olive oil, the next time I make this I'll use part coconut oil. I think it's a little lighter than olive oil.
Sugar scrub can be so expensive, this would make a lovely present. Package it in a pretty jar, with a lovely note. I used plastic tubs for the kids, but for an adult a pretty glass jar would be nice.

Whipped Coconut oil lotion
I love coconut oil. I cook with it, I use it in my hair. I have used it as a body oil. I love coconut butter, coconut manna. If you search this blog you'll find posts on all of these. I have never whipped coconut oil up to use as a body lotion though. I saw a pin on pinterest with a coconut oil lotion, but it used a thickener and glycerin. I didn't want to mess with buying any ingredients. So I just whipped it up with what I had on hand. It works great. It still melts at body temperature. But it's easier to scoop of a jar and it has other good oils in it. The problem is, as soon as it gets warm you have liquid again. So maybe I should pick up some stabilizers LOL.
I used pure vitamin E oil that I had on hand and I also put some of this Coconut hair oil in. I read all the ingredients and thought, hmm. This has good stuff in it.
Whipped Coconut oil lotion
1 cup coconut oil- do not melt this first
1-2 teaspoons Vitamin E
1-2 teaspoons Coconut hair oil (optional, or use another oil like almond or olive)
Place the ingredients in a stand mixer. You can do this with a hand mixer, but you won't be able to walk away and do other things. Whip up the ingredients until fluffy. If it's not whipping up chill the bowl with oils in it for about 10 minutes and continue whipping.
Store in a jar. I keep mine in the fridge.

ID cards for kids
If you order prints from ... well, just about anywhere. You get these little thumbnail sheets. Well I took some of the pictures and made little ID cards for my kids. I made their cards on the back of my "Mommy calling cards" that they used for play dates.
I'm also going to cut out these little thumbnails and make cupcake toppers, bento picks and, a little cake banner like this one on the Smurf cupcakes.
