Peasreads: The Wrong Daughter by Dandy Smith

This book is  300 pages of a binge-worthy ride. It's a fast read but with some great twists and an unexpected conclusion! It's a little Criminal Minds and a little Law and Order written from multiple points of view. This is a short review because I don't want to give anything away. I will list trigger warnings below, before the description that may contain spoilers. The ending isn't all roses and butterflies. It is unexpected. All I can say is that this is a psychological thriller that I would recommend if this is your genre!

Red Thread of Fate by Lyn Liao Butler

A story about betrayal, family, love, healing, forgiveness, and letting go so you can move forward. I truly enjoyed this book and devoured it in one sitting. All 368 pages. I just kept turning the pages. This book is labeled as romance fiction. Maybe it is. It is more about familial bonds and love. Yes, there was/is love between Tam and her recently deceased husband. I found that I was drawn in by the relationships she had after the accident that killed her husband and estranged cousin.

Tam, to me, was learning to let people in. To see their stories and be vulnerable enough to share her own. I saw village building. Allowing yourself to let others be close to you. Allowing them to see the ugly parts along with the good. That is why I think this is a great read. All of that including the description below makes for a powerful story about the ties that bind us, and how fate has her own way of revealing what is to come.

If you like historical fiction, suspense, and mystery. This book is a wonderful read. The story weaves together the lives of  Sara Smythe and Bailey Camden who live 100 years apart, they both reside in the historic Dakota in Manhattan. I loved reading some of the history about the building itself, so much so that the book had me doing research on my own about this famed landmark.

 When I first saw this book, I was kind of skeptical. The summery sounded interesting, but not really my type, which is more fantastical or mythological. That being said, I put off reading the book forever. Once I started, I finished the book in less than half a day.

This novel is about a woman named Irene who works at the Invisible Library. At this library they collect important and rare books from different worlds. These are all variations of earth some have magic, others are more technologically advanced. Irene and her assistant Kai are sent to collect a book from a chaos infected world. The rules of reality are skewed in some of these worlds. They find that not only had the book been stolen, there were many powerful groups and people who were also after the book.
