The Young Scientists Club- Holiday Wish List

Can you believe that the holidays are approaching so very quickly!? Hanukkah 2013 begins in the evening of Wednesday, November 27 this year. It just seems so early to me, and of course Christmas is less than 2 months away! If you're looking for gifts for children ages 3 and up, and ages 5 and up The Young Scientists Club has some great selections that are fun and educational. You can read my original review on this great company here on Give Peas a Chance. The weather kit is reviewed in depth there. The most recent kit we've opened up is the Exploring The Wonders Of Nature kit. We also have a Human Body kit that I purchased this summer but I haven't gotten to it yet! The Nature kit was offered to us as a review product. The weather is cooling down here and it's perfect for outdoor exploring, the leaves and changing and falling. Bugs are plentiful under rocks, and it's not too hot to go searching for them! This kit includes so many activities. You can start and ant farm (with instructions to return the ants to where you found them after!), make animal tracks with sand and plaster, make leaf rubbings, and more. Some of the activities can be saved for a rainy day also like making an ant out of balloons, and learning the life cycle of the ant.
This is Pixie studying Pill Bugs, which happen to be her FAVORITE crustaceans. She made a field guide and everything this summer.
This kit is for ages 5 and up. The Magic School Bus kits are geared for this age group while the Clifford kits are geared towards ages 3 and up.

All three of the girls had fun with the activities in the Exploring the Wonders Of Nature Kit. If you're looking for fun and education, these kits are perfect. And because there are so many activities to do, most you can do over and over again, kids will keep coming back for more!
If you and your children love science be SURE to friend them on Facebook, they post free science experiments weekly on so join in the free fun!

They even have a subscription! How cool is that? You can choose monthly or bi monthly delivery of a scientist kit. Read all about it and see what topics (36 in all) are covered!
Be sure to follow all of their social media sites and check out their blog for fun experiments and specials!

ABOUT THE YOUNG SCIENTISTS CLUB
Esther Novis, a mother of five and a former Harvard-trained biologist, started The Young Scientists Club 14 years ago as a summer science camp for her then 5-year-old son. Friends from other parts of the country told Novis they wanted to duplicate her concept and the idea for a science subscription service was born! The subscription kits are now mailed monthly to thousands of children around the world and the company’s retail kits are sold in hundreds of specialty stores. In addition to developing new products for The Young Scientists Club, this wise mom has many years of experience teaching at Phillips Academy, Andover and has written the science column for Parents Magazine plus wrote science experiments for the new science curriculum by McGraw-Hill Publishing.
