Bacon Wrapped Green Beans

This is simple, but it's good. and easy. Great for a quick appetizer. Bacon. Green beans. Onion. Hungarian Paprika. That's it. So good. You can use asparagus also. Season the bacon with maple syrup, black pepper, cayenne, whatever you like, even a little brown sugar.
A friend of mine got me Bacon Flavored toothpicks so I used them, but you can use any toothpicks to hold the bacon in place while cooking.

fresh green beans
1/2 onion
bacon
seasoning
toothpicks
Divide the green beans into little stacks of 4-5 each. Place a slice or two of onion on top.
Heat the oven to 400 degrees.
Depending on how many stacks you have take out the toothpicks now, so you don't have to reach for toothpicks with raw bacon hands. Not good.
Put your seasoning in a small bowl too, for the same reason.

You don't need a full slice of bacon for each stack, about 3/4 of a slice but you can use a whole slice too. I cut mine and saved the 1/4 slices for a salad topping.

Wrap each stack of veggies with the bacon. Secure with a toothpick, place seam side down on a parchment lined baking sheet OR a baking sheet with a rack on top.
Bake turning once until bacon is crisp. If the green beans are getting too soft, put the oven on broiler to crisp the bacon.
